Three kids among 8 drowned in Narmada river at Poicha, Gujarat

Around 12 noon on Tuesday, at least eight persons drowned in the Narmada River while taking a bath. They were among a number of visitors from the Amreli district who subsequently relocated to Surat.

Three kids among 8 drowned in Narmada river at Poicha, Gujarat

PTC News Desk: Eight people perished in the Narmada river at Poicha village in the Narmada region of Gujarat on Tuesday after going missing after taking a bath, according to police. Three of the victims were youngsters. They stated that the incident happened at about 1:00 pm.

"A search operation is underway to trace the children, who are in the age group of seven to 15 years and others who went missing," the Narmada town police said.


According to him, they were among 17 visitors from Surat who were traveling to Poicha hamlet to partake in a sacred dip in the Narmada River following their prayers at a temple. According to the police, local swimmers and Rajpipla town fire department workers are attempting to locate and save them.

Originally from the Amreli area, the unfortunate travelers eventually made their home in Surat. There were three tiny children among the victims. After arriving at the location, Rajpipla Town Police and other officials began the rescue efforts. After eight people drowned, a cloud of melancholy fell over the scene.

Meghaben Bharatbhai Baldania, Arnav Bharatbhai Baldania (age 45), Arnav Bharatbhai Baldania, Metraksha Bharatbhai Baldania, Vraj Himmatbhai Baldania, Aryan Rajubhai Jinjhala, Bhargava Ashokbhai Hadiya, and Bhavesh Vallabhbhai Hadiya are the names of the travelers who perished in the water.
