Jailed gangster Tillu Tajpuriya allegedly killed by rival gang members in Tihar Jail

Tajpuriya was immediately taken to Delhi's Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

New Delhi, May 02: Jailed gangster Tillu Tajpuriya, who was an accused in the Delhi's Rohini court shootout case, was allegedly killed by rival gang members inside Tihar jail, according to prison officials. Tajpuriya was immediately taken to Delhi's Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Another person, Rohit, who was also attacked, is currently undergoing treatment and is out of danger. The police said that Yogesh Tunda, who was lodged in Jail No. 8, and other members of the rival gang attacked Tajpuriya, who was lodged in Jail No. 9, with an iron grill.

The incident occurred when Tunda and Deepak Teetar broke the iron grills of the ward, which separated both gangs in the same ward. Further investigation into the incident is underway.

Tajpuriya was accused in the Rohini court shootout case where two shooters shot and killed Jitendra Gogi in Rohini Court No. 207 during a shootout in September last year. Sources had said that a day before the Rohini shootout, two shooters named Umang and Jagdeep took weapons from a crook named Rakesh Tajpuria in Murthal. Meanwhile, Tajpuriya was in constant touch with both of them through WhatsApp calls from jail.
