{{{content}}}Punjab Panchayat Elections 2024 LIVE UPDATES: Panchayat elections are being held in Punjab today, with voting scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Currently, the state has 13,937 gram panchayats where elections will take place.
The administration has completed all necessary preparations for the smooth conduct of the polls. The Election Commission has appointed 23 observers across the state to oversee the process. Polling teams have already been dispatched to the respective polling centers to ensure everything runs efficiently.
Around 96,000 employees have been deployed on election duty, and strict security measures have been put in place by Punjab Police. The entire election process will be videographed for transparency. Vote counting will begin after 4 p.m. today, and the results will be announced soon after. The Election Commission will also ensure that the counting process is recorded on video for accountability.
