Heartfelt tribute: CISF sniffer dog Max retires with full honours at Amritsar airport
CISF officials said that Max played an instrumental role in maintaining airport security during his tenure using his keen senses and alertness to respond effectively in several serious situations.
PTC News Desk: A special farewell ceremony was organised at Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport on Friday where a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) dog squad member Max was given a ceremonial retirement with full honours after years of dedicated service.
CISF officials said that Max played an instrumental role in maintaining airport security during his tenure using his keen senses and alertness to respond effectively in several serious situations.
Born on March 10, 2020, Max was inducted into the CISF on July 3 of the same year and stationed at Amritsar airport after extensive training.
While trained service dogs usually serve for about eight years, Max's tenure was cut short due to serious health conditions, leading to his early retirement after five years of service.
The attendees were left visibly moved as the ceremony witness emotional scenes especially when his handler Head Constable Jagjit Singh bid him farewell, saying 'Love You Max'.
Fellow members of the dog squad paid tribute to Max by saluting him in recognition of his service. Max, too, responded in his own style by saluting the officers, winning hearts during the farewell event.
CISF officials said Max's key contribution to in strengthening airport security will always be remembered with immense pride.
