New Delhi, July 01: The Monsoon Session of Parliament is set to commence on July 20 and conclude on August 11, announced Pralhad Joshi, the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, on Saturday. Joshi called upon political parties to engage in constructive discussions during the session.

Anticipated to be a tumultuous session, opposition parties are uniting to form a formidable front against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with an eye on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections next year.

This session coincides with Prime Minister Modi's firm advocacy for the implementation of a Uniform Civil Code, and discussions on the matter are expected to be intensified.

Sources suggest that the Monsoon Session will commence in the old Parliament building and subsequently transition to the newly inaugurated building on May 28, as stated by Prime Minister Modi.

"Monsoon Session, 2023, of Parliament will commence from July 20 and continue till August 11. Urge all parties to contribute towards productive discussions on legislative business and other items during the session," tweeted Joshi.

The session is spread over 23 days and will witness 17 sittings, as mentioned in another tweet by Joshi in Hindi.
