Use Face ID while wearing mask; know all about new iPhone feature
Apple may be working on a new feature that will allow iPhone users to unlock their phones using Face ID while wearing a mask. According to MacRumors, the iOS 15.4 beta introduced a new feature that allows Face ID to be used with a mask and without an Apple Watch. However, it appears that the Face ID with a mask feature requires an iPhone 12 or iPhone 13, as the feature unavailable for iPhone 11 users. Face ID was previously "compatible" while wearing a mask, but it required an Apple Watch to be authenticated and linked in order for a partial face match to be possible. Face ID may be used for Apple Pay, App Store downloads, and third-party apps even when wearing a mask. You can set up Face ID with or without a mask on, and you don't have to wear one during setup if you choose the mask-on option. Apple claims that because masked face ID uses less biometric data than full-facial face ID, the user's entire face may not be recognised at times. The user may be asked to enter their passcode in this case. Face ID, like the mask feature, uses a newly built algorithm that focuses more on the eye area to validate the unlock because the nose and mouth, which account for a big portion of the face data, are masked. Face ID with mask feature will support up to four pairs of glasses per registered look. Face ID currently employs a state-of-the-art TrueDepth camera system and advanced technologies to accurately trace the form of your face and provide quick and secure verification. Face ID works with a wide range of accessories, including headgear, scarves, spectacles, contact lenses, and goggles. It may be used both indoors and outdoors, as well as in complete darkness.
