Woman passenger from UK with no symptoms test Covid-19 positive in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A 35-year-old passenger from the United Kingdom with no symptoms has tested Covid-19 positive. Her samples have been sent for genome sequencing to determine new Covid-19 variant Omicron. Notably, the Hyderabad health authorities have intensified the screening of all international travellers after the detection of two Omicron positive cases at the Bengaluru airport. 5 contacts of Omicron-infected person test positive

Bengaluru (Karnataka): As many as three primary contacts and two secondary contacts of the 46-year-old male, who was tested positive for Covid-19 with Omicron variant, were tested positive between November 22 and 25. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has informed that their samples have been sent for genome sequencing and the results are awaited. Union Health Ministry on Thursday said that two cases of Omicron variant of Covid-19 have been reported in the country so far.
