Supreme Court's YouTube channel hacked, crypto video posted without authorisation

PTC News Desk: In a concerning incident reflecting the growing threat of cybercrime, the Supreme Court's YouTube channel has reportedly been hacked. Following the breach, the channel's name was altered to "Ripple" instead of "Supreme Court India," and crypto-related videos have replaced the court's official content.

This unauthorised activity raises alarms, especially considering that the Supreme Court handles sensitive documents related to numerous high-profile cases. Although there have been no reports of document leaks or further breaches at this time, the potential risk remains a cause for concern.

Investigations are currently underway to determine the source of the attack. As of now, no group has claimed responsibility, and various investigative agencies are involved in unraveling the details behind the breach. The exact method used by the hackers to infiltrate the channel is still unclear.

This is not the first incident involving the Supreme Court; the court's official website was also hacked in 2018. At that time, investigators faced similar challenges in tracing the origin of the attack. The repeated targeting of the Supreme Court's online platforms underscores the need for heightened cybersecurity measures to safeguard sensitive legal information.

As authorities work to secure the channel and restore its integrity, the incident serves as a reminder of the vulnerabilities inherent in our increasingly digital world.
