70-year-old Sikh man, in coma, battles for life after brutal assault in US

PTC News Desk: In a shocking incident, a 70-year-old Sikh man is battling for his life and is reportedly in medically induced coma after he was allegedly attacked with a blunt object while taking his daily walk near a gurdwara in North Hollywood.
The victim identified as Harpal Singh, remains in critical condition, unable to communicate, with internal bleeding to the brain.
The incident took place on August 4 in the 7500 block of Lankershim Boulevard near Saticoy Street at around 3:20 pm when he was left critically injured. The family described the attack as both horrifying and deeply traumatic for the Sikh community.
“We don’t feel safe anymore,” said Singh’s brother, visibly emotional. “He was just taking a walk, like he did every day.”
According to the eyewitnesses, a man riding a bicycle approached the Sikh man and started assaulting him brutally, leaving the weapon behind and old man drenched in blood.
The incident captured in CCTV critically injured Sikh man sitting helplessly on ground soaked in blood with the golf club lying at his feet, as several people approach – presumably to offer help.
Witnesses reportedly told Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers that the suspect was a man in his 50s. The police have launched a manhunt to nab the suspect.
The incident has sparked outrage across the community with people demanding increased police surveillance in the area and stronger protection for minority groups.
