Benjamin Netanyahu's coffee video under scrutiny, Grok flags possible deepfake
PTC News Desk: A new video shared by Benjamin Netanyahu from a coffee shop to dismiss rumours of his death has created a stir online after Grok AI claimed the clip might be AI-generated. The video surfaced after reports circulated on social media alleging that the Israeli Prime Minister had been killed in an Iranian attack.
In the clip, Netanyahu jokingly responded to the rumours, saying, “I am dead for coffee.” However, Grok suggested the video could be a deepfake and described it as a satire clip, which further fuelled speculation about his whereabouts and wellbeing.

The AI assistant pointed to several details that it said raised doubts about the video’s authenticity, including the coffee level in the cup remaining unchanged and lip movements that appeared unnatural. Despite the claims, there has been no official confirmation that the video is fake.

Supporters of Netanyahu insist that the video appears genuine and accuse critics of spreading misinformation. Others say the episode highlights a growing challenge in the digital age—the difficulty of telling real content apart from AI-generated media.
