PTC Web Desk: A 24-year-old Indian student from Ludhiana has died under mysterious circumstances in Canada’s Ontario province. The deceased, identified as Anmoldeep Kaur, had moved to Canada in 2021 for higher studies. She was living on a work permit while also working in the childcare sector.

According to available information, Anmoldeep had gone for her usual walk at a park located between her residence and Georgian College in Barrie. She reportedly sat on a bench during her walk, where she was later found unresponsive. People present at the park tried to check on her but realised she had already passed away. The police were immediately informed.

The news reached her family in Ludhiana on Thursday. Relatives and neighbours gathered at her residence as the family struggled to cope with the sudden loss.

Her father, Parminder Singh, a retired Army subedar, said his daughter had never mentioned any health or personal issues. About a year ago, she had applied for permanent residency and was hopeful of settling in Canada. She had also recently applied for a visitor visa to bring her mother to Canada.

Canadian authorities have taken custody of the body and launched an investigation. CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed and statements from witnesses are being recorded to understand the circumstances leading to her death.

Her brother, Dilpreet Singh, who lives in the United States, is on his way to Canada. The family has said that they will seek assistance from a local social organisation in their native village, Manuke, to bring her body back to India.

Her father has ruled out any suspicion of suicide, stating that the exact cause of death will only be known after the police complete their investigation.
