'No extension planned': Donald Trump warns of fresh strikes on Iran as ceasefire nears end

PTC Web Desk: US President Donald Trump has made it clear that he is not interested in extending the ongoing ceasefire with Iran, which is set to end on Wednesday.

In an interview, Donald Trump said there is not much time left and he believes the United States is in a strong position to push for a better deal. He also warned that if an agreement is not reached soon, the US could restart military action against Iran.

Trump added that the US military is fully prepared and ready if needed. At the same time, he has given mixed signals about the situation. While saying he is not in a hurry to end the conflict, he also mentioned that a US team could still be sent for talks.

The proposed talks are expected to take place in Islamabad, with US Vice President JD Vance likely to lead the American side. However, Iran has not confirmed whether it will participate or who it might send.

Iran’s senior leader Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has taken a tough stand, saying the country will not negotiate under threats. He also hinted that Iran has new strategies ready if the situation worsens.

Meanwhile, tensions remain high around the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global oil supply. The US has reportedly put pressure on Iran by blocking its ports, while demanding that ships be allowed to pass freely through the strait.

The situation has already impacted global markets. Oil prices have surged sharply, with Brent crude trading close to $95 per barrel, rising significantly since the conflict began.

With the ceasefire deadline approaching, it is still unclear whether talks will happen or if the situation will turn into a fresh round of conflict.
