Punjab girl murder in UK: Police arrest accused in Kirandeep Kaur murder case
UK police have charged a 44-year-old man with the murder of Punjab's Taran Taran girl Kirandeep Kaur, who was killed in a London stabbing. Accused also faces charges of attempted murder and possession of a bladed weapon
PTC Web Desk: Nearly three days after 24-year-old Punjab resident Kirandeep Kaur was fatally stabbed in London, the Metropolitan Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with the case.
The accused has been identified as Daniel Sean James (44), a resident of Mercer Place, Pinner. He has been charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a bladed article, the police said.
UK police file murder charges
According to the Metropolitan Police, the accused was formally charged on July 13 and produced before Willesden Magistrates' Court on July 14. The investigation into the case is continuing.
Kirandeep Kaur was found dead in Hayes
Kirandeep Kaur, a resident of Piddi village in Punjab's Tarn Taran district, was found with multiple stab injuries after police responded to reports of a stabbing at a property on Uxbridge Road in Hayes on Sunday morning. Despite emergency medical assistance, she was declared dead at the scene.

A man in his 20s was also found outside the property with stab injuries. He was taken to hospital and the police said his injuries were not life-threatening.
Kirandeep had moved to the United Kingdom nearly two years ago on a student visa. After completing her studies, she obtained a work permit and had started working there.
Following her death, her family in Punjab appealed to the Government of India to help bring her mortal remains back home so that her last rites can be performed in her native village.
The police have not disclosed the motive behind the attack, and further investigation is underway.
