Blast in Pakistan: 7 dead, several injured in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa office bombing
No group has claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack so far | Police and security forces cordon off the area
Blast in Pakistan: At least seven persons were killed and several others seriously injured after a powerful bomb blast tore through the office of a peace committee in Wana, the headquarters of South Waziristan district in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to reports.
The explosion caused a section of the building to collapse, trapping many under the debris. Rescue teams and local residents quickly launched an emergency operation to retrieve survivors. The injured victims were rushed to nearby hospitals, with some reported to be in critical condition. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack.
This tragic incident comes amid a surge in terrorist attacks in Pakistan, particularly in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, following the breakdown of a ceasefire agreement with the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in November 2022.
