PTC Web Desk: At least 11 persons were killed and more than 100 injured after a massive explosion tore through a factory in Russia’s Ryazan region, located just outside Moscow, officials confirmed on Saturday.
The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations stated that rescue teams were working tirelessly to clear the wreckage. “Unfortunately, 11 persons were killed,” the ministry said in a statement, sharing images of destroyed buildings and debris. The authorities also reported that around 130 persons suffered injuries in the blast.
Independent media outlets identified the site of the explosion as the Elastik gunpowder and ammunition factory. The plant has a history of deadly accidents—back in 2021, a blast at the same facility claimed 17 lives.
