While driving, the suspect crashed into several vehicles, causing significant damage to multiple cars.

Eyewitnesses recorded the incident on video and immediately alerted the police. Officers reached the spot, stopped the bus and arrested the suspect.

The incident has sparked anger and protests among members of the Punjabi and Sikh communities in the UK. Community organisations, religious congregations and prominent leaders have condemned what they described as a hate crime and have demanded strict legal action against the accused.

According to the BBC, West Mercia Police said the bus driver was forced out of the vehicle during the assault. The suspect then drove the bus in the wrong direction from Park Way towards High Street, hitting several vehicles along the way.

Police eventually stopped the bus and arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of robbery and dangerous driving. He remains in custody as the investigation continues.

Police said the bus driver was treated by paramedics for minor injuries and that no one else was believed to have been injured.

Detective Sergeant Taigh Lannie said the incident would have been alarming for people in the area. He said police responded quickly and reassured the community that a suspect had been arrested and remained in custody.
