Chandigarh 'iPhone Langar': 'Raja D King' announces distribution of iPhone 17 as 'prasad' on September 22

PTC News Desk: After petrol langar drew massive response in Chandigarh, social media personality Rakesh Trehan has now announced that he will begin distributing iPhones on September 22, saying the recipients will be selected publicly.

Trehan said the date came earlier than he expected amid online speculations about when the event would be held.

"I had thought that after September 21, Mata Rani would give a date 5–7 days, 10 days, or 15 days later; but 'Jai Mata Di' gave the date of September 22," he said

Trehan framed the 'langar' as the culmination of years of personal devotion. "I remained absorbed in devotion. I gave up everything and everyone who was mine... I wanted to attain 'Jai Mata Di'; I wanted to know who 'Jai Mata Di' is, the source of everything we receive," he said, describing the September 22 event in Chandigarh as the first of many.

He added, "If someone gets an iPhone 16, they will be happy, but they will also say, 'Jai Mata Di, why didn't I get a 17 when the person next to me got a 17?' So, the 16 was also cancelled... only the iPhone 17 will be given. It will start with the iPhone 17, which costs around ₹1 lakh."

Adding further he said that lucky winners will receive iPhone 17 models, depending on the availability.

Trehan said that initially he had planned to distribute 100 iPhones in Chandigarh and 200 in Mohali. However, he said 10 iPhones would be distributed on September 22 as part of the initial exercise, with the distribution to be expanded to 10 more cities in Punjab.

The announcement comes days after his 'petrol langar' was postponed due to heavy rain.

Asserting over the idea, Trehan said that distributing gifts is his hobby and that he gives gifts to people he meets. He had also said he planned to donate 90% of his wealth.
