"In mass media, it is broadcasting that the lesson on Bhagat Singh has been dropped and added a lesson on 'Hedegewar' but the fact is that the lesson on Bhagat Singh has not been dropped in the revised 10th standard Kannada textbook. At present, the revised textbooks are in the process of printing," read the press statement issued by Karnataka Text Book Society. Bhagat-Singh-chapter-row-4 Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister B C Nagesh has defended the inclusion of the speech. He said that the textbook does not contain anything about Hedgewar or RSS, but only his speech on what should be an inspiration to people, especially the youth, and that those who have raised objections have not gone through the textbook. Organisations like All-India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) and All-India Save Education Committee (AISEC) had alleged that a speech by RSS founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar was included in the textbook, while omitting a lesson on Bhagat Singh.
