Chandigarh Woman 'gang-raped' after she takes lift in car from Ambala

A 29-year-old woman has been allegedly gang-raped by six men near Ambala city in Haryana. The incident took place at an unidentified place near Ambala city in Haryana. The victim has been identified as a resident of Chandigarh. As per the complaint, the woman was returning to Chandigarh after her examination at Kurukshetra University on June 29, when she was sexually assaulted. The Ambala police have registered a case of gangrape against the six accused at Ambala Women Police station. The woman alleged that she was gang-raped in Ambala, said the Women SHO inspector Sunita. The victim appeared before the Ambala superintendent of police, after which a case was registered. Meanwhile, Ambala SP Abhishek Jorwal said that the woman may know some accused.
