A senior couple travelling in a car had a narrow escape after their vehicle caught fire all of sudden near sector 7-8 roundabout in Chandigarh on Monday morning.

According to media reports, the couple saw smoke emanating from the vehicle. As soon as the occupants came out of the vehicle, fire engulfed the car. The car occupants were lucky as they came out of the vehicle well in time. Otherwise, some mishap could have occurred.

The couple called the fire department. The fire brigades took time to reach the spot because of traffic. Meanwhile, a team of the local police reached the spot and started investigating.
