Coronavirus cases in India cross 12,000 mark, death toll 414

The total number of coronavirus (COVID 19) cases in India has surged to 12,380 after fresh cases and new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Thursday morning. Out of 12,380, 1489 have been cured and discharged while the death toll has increased to 414, according to the Health Ministry. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare was quoted by news agency ANI as saying: "India's total number of Coronavirus positive cases rises to 12,380 (including 10,477 active cases, 1489 cured/discharged/migrated and 414 deaths)." According to the Health ministry, of the total 414 deaths, Maharashtra is on the top with 187 deaths, followed by Madhya Pradesh at 53, Gujarat at 33, Delhi at 32 and Telengana at 18. Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh have reported 14 deaths each. Coronavirus in India Confirmed cases , Death Toll Due to COVID 19 Meanwhile, Punjab has reported 13 deaths while Karnataka has reported 12 deaths and Uttar Pradesh has 11 deaths. West Bengal has registered seven fatalities. Four passed away in Jammu and Kashmir while Kerala, Haryana and Rajasthan have recorded three fatalities each. Jharkhand reported two deaths. Meghalaya, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha and Assam reported one death each.

Meanwhile, the Government of India has released a list of 176 districts which have been included in the Hotspot. Likewise, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had released revised guidelines for the extended period of lockdown. According to the revised guidelines, no unchecked movement of people except for those of essential services and providing medical care will be permitted from the coronavirus 'hotspot' zones. -PTC News
