Punjab tally rises to 53 after fresh cases reported from Amritsar and Mohali

The total number of coronavirus cases has increased to 53 after fresh cases of coronavirus were reported from Amritsar and Mohali on Friday. According to the information, three people, who came in contact with former Hazuri Raghi of Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa, tested positive for coronavirus in Amritsar. According to the information, two of them are the family members of Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa. Likewise, two cases have been reported from Mohali. Reportedly, they had attended religious congregation at Nizamuddin in Delhi. Both of them were admitted to a hospital in Phase 6, Mohali. The number of cases has been rising in the state. Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa passed away due to coronavirus on Thursday. Likewise, the Punjab Government, in an order to contain the spread of coronavirus, released a list of 31 people who came in touch with Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa. Earlier on Thursday, a 69-year-old female was tested positive in Shimlapuri in Ludhiana. Meanwhile, the area has been sealed in an order to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Death toll in Punjab

The first death was reported when Baldev Singh, who died due to heart attack in Nawanshahr, later tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The second death was reported when a man identified as Harbhajan Singh, a resident of Hoshiarpur died in a hospital in Amritsar. Likewise, a death was reported from Ludhiana where a 42-year-old Pooja died due to coronavirus. The fifth was Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa who succumbed to the disease on Thursday. -PTC News
