Chandigarh, June 25: Covid-19 has gained momentum in Punjab once again. In the last seven days, as many as 771 patients have tested positive for coronavirus and six patients lost their lives. More than 100 cases have been reported in the past four days. As many as 144 persons tested positive for Covid 19 in the last 24 hours while a person from Mohali succumbed to the virus. As many as 23 patients are on life saving support — 17 on oxygen, five ICU and one patient is on ventilator. The number of active coronavirus patients in Punjab stands at 752. On Friday, 10,494 new samples were taken. The positivity rate in the state has now reached 1.18%. On Friday, the maximum number of 39 patients tested positive in Mohali. The positivity rate in the district is 5.11%. On the other hand, 25 new patients were found in Ludhiana. Since April 1, 837 patients have tested positive for coronavirus in Mohali while three persons succumbed to the virus. On the other hand, 456 persons were found infected and nine lost their lives in Ludhiana district during this period. Currently, the additional charge of health ministry is with Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann.
