Dense fog in Punjab: School timings changed in Jalandhar district
Dense fog in Punjab: All government, private and government-aided schools of Jalandhar district will open at 10.30 am due to Dense fog in Punjab.
The order was passed by the District Magistrate, Jalandhar, Varinder Kumar Sharma and has come into effect from January 2, 2018.
The order will remain in force till further order is received.
In order to ensure safety of students commuting to schools in the weather condition caused by dense fog the decision was taken by the District Magistrate.
Some fatal road mishaps have also been reported in the state on Monday, January 1, 2018. About 10 people have lost lives in less than 24 hours.
In the last 24 hours, ten persons were killed in four road accidents in the border districts of Amritsar and Tarn Taran, Punjab. Five car-borne persons, including two children, died on the Beas flyover here today after the vehicle crashed into a sugarcane-loaded trailer from the rear.
