The Election Commission has announced the dates for the 2020 Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections.
The polls will be held in three phases starting from October 28, and the counting of votes will happen on November 10.
In 1st phase, 71 Assembly constituencies in 16 districts, including most of the LWE (Left wing extremism) affected districts will go for poll. This is the first state election to be held in the country during the coronavirus pandemic.
The term of the state’s 243-member Legislative Assembly is scheduled to end on November 29.
The EC also issued a set of guidelines to be followed throughout the process.
Social distancing will be strictly adhered to and everyone will have to wear masks at polling booths.
