Alia Bhatt wears her wedding saree at National Awards ceremony; know why
PTC News Desk: Alia Bhatt's presence at the 69th National Film Awards ceremony stunned everyone.
Alia chose to wear her wedding day saree to accept the Best Actress award at the prestigious event, surely a significant gesture to sustainable fashion.
As fans wondered why she repeated the outfit, Alia turned to Instagram Story hours after winning the award and shared her reasons for repeating the ivory saree from acclaimed designer Sabyasachi's eponymous label.
"A special day calls for a special outfit. And sometimes... that outfit is already right there What's special once can be special again. And again...:) #rewear # reuse #repeat MA," she wrote. She also added a picture of herself in the six yards of pure grace.
Alia also shared a few photos with her husband Ranbir, who was the loudest cheerleader for her.
Ranbir wore a black bandhgala blazer to the event.
Alia proudly flaunted her medal in one of the photos, while Ranbir took a photo of the two of them.
She ended the sequence of images with a cute picture of Ranbir and her walking down the corridor together.
Alia also shared a photo with Kriti Sanon and Allu Arjun, both of whom received awards at the event.
Alia captioned the photos, "A photo, a moment, a memory for life."
Alia's mother, Soni Razdan, and mother-in-law, Neetu Kapoor, both congratulated the 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' star.
"Proud very very proud @aliaabhatt god bless," Neetu wrote.
She also shared a video and captioned, "Congratulations my darling @aliaabhatt on your National Award ... it's all due to your hard work and dedication to your craft. Such a proud moment for us all truly. May your tribe increase! Gratitude and love."
