Footballer Paul Pogba supports hijab protest in Karnataka
Manchester United footballer Paul Pogba has come in support of Karnataka hijab protest which happened recently over the muslim college students being denied the right to wear a hijab.
Paul Pogba shared an original video clip of protests featuring a faceoff between burqa-clad girls and saffron-scarved boys on his Instagram handle with a caption “Hindutva mobs continue to harass Muslim girls wearing hijab to college in India.”

Manchester United footballer has become the second prominent international figure after human rights activist Malala Yousufzai to support the issue of Karnataka hijab protest.
Meanwhile, there are several groups that claim that Paul's post is a part of propaganda. The video posted by footballer was re-posted by an extremist Islamist page called “Islam is my deen” on Instagram.
The visuals show students wearing saffron robes protesting against the Burqa-clad girl students who are adamant over Hijab. The visuals also show a young woman, who is said to be a school teacher, opening a classroom door after which dozens of boys storm inside.

Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai who had previously reacted to the hijab controversy in Karnataka, said "refusing to let girls go to school in their hijabs is horrifying" and "leaders must stop the marginalisation of Muslim women”.
