Government allows all foreign and Indian nationals to travel to India except tourists, details inside
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday announced a graded relaxation in visa and travel restrictions. The government of India has allowed all Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) and Person Of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders and all other foreign nationals intending to travel to India for any purpose, except on a Tourist Visa.
They have been permitted to enter by air or water routes through authorized airports and seaport immigration check posts, it added.

"Under this graded relaxation, Government to restore with immediate effect all existing visas (except electronic visa, Tourist Visa and Medical Visa). Foreign nationals intending to visit India for medical treatment can apply for a Medical Visa including for medical attendants," Government of India said while announcing graded relaxation in visa and travel restrictions.
In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of India had taken various steps to curtail the inward and outward movement of international passengers since February, 2020.

Therefore, it has now been decided to make a graded relaxation in visa and travel restrictions for foreign nationals and Indian nationals who wish to enter or leave India, a report said.
The Foreign nationals and Indian nationals can avail flights operating under the Vande Bharat Mission and Air Transport Bubble arrangements as allowed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation to enter or exit India.
However, all such passengers would be required to follow the COVID-19 guidelines issued by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Besides relaxation for OCI and PIO cardholders except tourist visa, the Home Ministry also announced that all the existing visas, barring electronic visa, Tourist Visa and Medical Visa, are being restored with an immediate effect.
