All home delivery services in Ludhiana stopped

In a major development, all the home delivery services of food establishments have been stopped in Ludhiana from Thursday onwards until further orders. It has been decided to curb the spread of coronavirus. The District Magistrate of Ludhiana, Pradeep Agarwal stated that "The permissions regarding food preparation establishments given earlier only for home delivery, were on an experimental basis and for a limited duration of time." "Now, in an alarming situation arising due to coronavirus across the country and the risks attached to food contamination, it has been decided to stop all the operations of food establishments till further orders," he said. Meanwhile, all the permissions stood cancelled with immediate effect, and any establishment, if found providing home delivery, would be held responsible for violating the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and Disaster Management Act, 2005. Shopping websites likely to resume services from April 20 as govt plans some relaxation. Punjab has so far reported 193 coronavirus positive cases so far, out of which around 27 people have been cured and discharged. The total number of coronavirus positive cases in India has reached 12,380, as per the latest report by the Health Ministry on Thursday morning. Punjab Government on Thursday launched a Pooled procedure for the investigation of coronavirus suspects in the Viral Research Diagnostic Lab (VRDL) of the state. With this, the expected jump in testing capacity will be about 3 to 4 times the existing capacity. -PTC News
