The Indian government is taking steps to upgrade Indian rail and metro system all across the nation, India’s first rapid and fastest rail corridor from Delhi to Meerut unveiled by the National Capital Regional Transport Corporation (NCRTC). First rail corridor introduced in the country with business and premium coach, designed new to provide a good travelling experience for passengers, the coach will run on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor and cover a distance of 82 km in just 55 minutes.

Know-all-about-Delhi-Meerut-rail-corridor-3 Also Read: Think before sharing Netflix password The new RRTS train will have new modern and advanced features with wide spacing, 2*2 transverse seats, luggage racks, CCTV cameras, and sockets at every seat for laptop/mobile charging, dynamic route maps, auto control ambient lighting system, heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system, and other amenities. For the safety and security of women, the coach also has one special coach reserved for women only. The premium coach has a feature of reclining seats with vending machines. The train will have 407 seats in total. The train is capable of accommodating 1500 passengers at once.

Know-all-about-Delhi-Meerut-rail-corridor-5 Discussing about the upcoming project, managing director of NCRTC Vinay Kumar said, “Since the inception of the RRTS project, commuter convenience has been our priority. The entire infrastructure, be it trains or stations, have been designed to ensure safety, ease of access, and comfort for commuters so that it will become the people’s first choice.” Looking at the speed, the train has an average speed of 100 km/hr and a maximum speed of 160 km/hr.
