Bengaluru, February 12: In a shocking incident, the auctioneer of IPL 2022, Hugh Edmeadus, fainted down during the mega auction of the Indian Premier League 2022. This comes during the bidding war for Sri Lankan cricketer Wanindu Hasaranga. Auctioneer Hugh Edmeadus, who fainted down and fell from the auction stage, was looking exhausted right from the beginning. Soon after he fell down, the team's jury member rushed to check him. As per the latest update, auctioneer Edmeades is stable and the event will resume after the early lunch. The auction will resume at 3:30 pm, informed broadcasters. Meanwhile, broadcaster Charu Sharma will be the auctioneer for the rest of day 1 of IPL Auction 2022 as Edmeades continues to be under medical supervision. A total of 590 players, 370 Indians and 220 overseas are being auctioned at the IPL 2022 mega auction in Bengaluru at ITC Gardenia. Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, and Royal Challengers Bangalore have retained a few players, while two new franchises, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow, have selected certain players ahead of the auction.
