Popular Bollywood actor John Abraham who is known for his selfless care for animals has voiced out against animal cruelty after a man allegedly shot a sleeping stray dog in Punjab’s Patiala district on Wednesday. John Abraham John Abraham expressed his emotions and his anger over the incident and urged all citizens to not avoid any such behavior which gives light to the animal cruelty. The accused Taranjot Singh, shared the video of the incident on social media platforms. In the video, he can be seen holding a rifle and shooting a sleeping stray dog. Showing his grief on this regard, John Abraham Tweeted,  “Heartbroken to report that last night a brutal act of animal violence was committed in Patiala, Punjab. I am extremely thankful to @asharmeet02 for raising an alarm about the cruel act & to the  @PunjabPoliceInd @vikramduggalips for their stern action on the matter”

However, an FIR has been registered against Taranjot under Indian Penal Code Section 429 (mischief by killing animal) at Punjab's Patran police station. The accused was also booked under different sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. On the cinematic front, he will be next in ‘Satyameva Jayate 2’ which has been shifted to release from May 13 to a later date which is yet to be announced.
