8 charred to death after car suffers tyre burst, rams dumper on highway in UP
PTC News Desk: In a horrifying accident, at least eight people were charred to death after a head-to-head collision between a dumper and a car on the Bareilly-Nainital Highway, in the Bhojipura police station area of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday night.
According to eyewitnesses, the car's tyre burst, causing a head-on collision with a dumper from Uttarakhand. According to sources, the accident was followed by a huge explosion as the two vehicles caught fire, and locals nearby rushed out of their homes and called the police.
After receiving information about the accident, the police team quickly arrived on the scene, and fire tenders were dispatched to put out the fires.
The trapped occupants of the car were, however, burned alive since the doors were locked from the inside. According to officials, the dumper's two occupants were badly injured.
The death of all eight occupants of the car was confirmed by the local Special Superintendent of Police (SSP), who stated that the vehicle was travelling from Bareilly to Baheri.
According to the SSP, the police took possession of the bodies and sent them for a post-mortem, and a child was also among the deceased.
