Ahmedabad plane crash: Second black box recovered from crash site, probe intensifies
PTC News Desk: The officials investigating the fatal Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad which claimed 270 lives have recovered the second black box four days after the incident. The officials have confirmed that a Cockpit Voice Recorder has been recovered which mounts to a crucial discovery to identify the probable cause behind the deadly crash.
Earlier, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) had confirmed that only the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) of the ill-fated plane was found.
PK Mishra, the Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who was informed about the recovery of black boxes inspected the crash site where Air India plane crash and also visited the civil hospital where injured persons are undergoing treatment.
Mishra chaired a high-level review meeting at Circuit House here and discussed ongoing relief, rescue, and investigation efforts with senior officials from the Central and state governments, Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), and Airports Authority of India, an official release said.

Meanwhile US officials of Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau have arrived in Ahmedabad to carry out rigorous investigation and identify the cause behind the crash. Several other international aviation bodies are also in contact with Indian authorities involved in the investigation.
