Al-Falah University's professor, fired by J&K Lt Governor, missing after Delhi blast
PTC News Desk: Dr. Nisar-ul-Hassan, a former assistant professor at Srinagar’s SMHS Hospital, who was dismissed by the Jammu and Kashmir government in 2023 for alleged anti-national activities, has gone missing after the car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10, officials said.
Dr. Hassan was reportedly working with Al-Falah University in Faridabad, Haryana, before he disappeared. His whereabouts have been unknown since the explosion, which occurred near the Red Fort Metro Station in a busy area and killed around 12 people.
Documents show that Dr. Hassan, then a professor in the Department of Medicine at Al-Falah University, had been terminated by the Jammu and Kashmir administration under Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution, which permits dismissal of a public servant without inquiry in matters concerning state security. He was among several employees removed in 2023 for their alleged involvement in anti-national activities.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether his disappearance is linked to the Delhi car blast, and an investigation is ongoing.
