Andhra shocker: Dalit man thrashed, urinated upon by 6; accused arrested
Andhra shocker: Six people allegedly assaulted a Dalit youth and urinated on him in Andhra Pradesh's NTR district on Sunday, according to police.
The victim has been identified as Shyam Kumar. After filing a non-bailable case, police arrested all six accused.
According to the officials, the Dailt youth was held by the six accused for four hours and beaten up by them, and when he asked for water, the accused urinated on him.
Following the incident, the Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) Scheduled Caste (SC) cell staged a protest and even blocked roads.
TDP SC cell president MMS Raju organized the protest, which included blocking the highway near Kanchikacharla and holding a protest dharna on both sides of the highway.
The protestors were seen raising the slogan 'We Want Justice' in the video.
The footage also showed police officers carrying one of the protestors by his hands and feet in order to disperse the crowd and clear the road.
