Assam horror: 15-year-old sexually assaulted, face smashed, rod inserted in private parts; five detained
PTC News Desk: In an extremely disturbing incident, a 15-year-old girl from Assam was allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered at her home and her body was left in a devastated condition, almost unrecognisable for her family.
The girl's body was discovered by her family in Hailakandi district after they returned from a feast at a relative's house nearby.
Police sources said the girl's head and face had been brutally smashed, and investigators are examining allegations that a metal rod was inserted into her private parts. The incident took place around 11 pm on Saturday in the Aloichora area under Katlichera police station.
According to police sources, the girl had gone with her family to a relative's house for a feast but returned home after an argument with a cousin.
When her family returned later, they found her dead inside the house. They said her injuries were so severe that she was almost unrecognisable.
Following the incident, angry locals blocked National Highway 6, demanding the immediate arrest of those responsible and strict punishment for the culprits.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amitabh Sinha said a case has been registered and five people have been detained for questioning. He added that the allegations of sexual assault are yet to be confirmed through a medical examination.
"The family claims she was sexually assaulted, but we are waiting for the post-mortem report before drawing any conclusions. We are investigating the matter thoroughly, and four persons are currently being questioned," SSP Sinha told reporters.
