The right to protest must be protected, but so must the right of a city to function safely.

CJP protest LIVE UPDATES | The national capital is under heavy security cover since Friday in the wake of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
However, the biggest relief for commuters came from the Supreme Court. A Bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice V Mohana ruled there shall be no complete prohibition on Delhi Metro and railway services. Hearing a plea by CPI(M) leader MA Baby, mentioned by senior advocate Kapil Sibal, the court asked the government to allow services in a “regulated manner” and publicise its decision widely.
Earlier on Friday, the Delhi Police had denied the CJP permission to protest at Jantar Mantar, citing a late application and alleged violations during a previous demonstration. Prohibitory orders have been imposed across New Delhi District for October 10.
The Ministry of Home Affairs also approved a temporary suspension of Internet services within a 4-km radius of the Janpath–Kartavya Path crossing, from 10 pm on October 9 to 10 pm on October 10. All forms of mobile Internet have been ordered suspended.
