Himachal Fire: Massive fire erupts at perfume factory in Baddi; one dead

Himachal Fire: A devastating fire has broken out in a perfume manufacturing facility situated in the industrial area of Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. State Health Minister Dhani Ram Shandil reached the spot to assess the situation. As per information, nine women are reported to be missing.

"In the evening of February 2, 2024, the Advanced Trauma Centre, PGIMER, received five patients related to the recent fire incident at a perfume packing factory in Baddi, Solan, Himachal Pradesh. According to the patients, they resorted to jumping from the building to escape the flames. Regrettably, one victim was brought dead. The four survivors, identified as Charan Singh (22), Prem Kumari (27), Aarti (25), and Geeta (25), all residents of Baddi, Solan, have sustained injuries to the spine/head and minor burns. Currently, these patients are in a stable condition, receiving necessary medical attention and treatment," Vipin Koushal, official spokesperson for PGIMER, Chandigarh, said.

The fire at NR Aroma Company at Jharmajri in Baddi,Nalagarg, has been raging for the past seven hours and is yet to be controlled, posing a significant challenge to firefighting efforts. Despite ongoing attempts, the authorities have not yet gained control over the escalating situation. A specialised team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and an Army unit from Chandimandir, Panchkula, have been mobilised for swift and effective rescue operations.

As per reports reaching here, 32 labourers managed to evacuate the premises, while an alarming 24 workers remained trapped inside the factory. A coordinated rescue operation involving NDRF, local law enforcement, fire services, and the Army is currently underway to extricate the stranded workers.
