Flash floods in Himachal's Mandi, several vehicles washed away
Mandi (Himachal Pradesh), June 25: Several vehicles were washed away due to flash floods caused by incessant rains in the last 24 hours in a rivulet at Janjehli in Himachal's Mandi district.
Heavy rains have caused extensive damage in several parts of Mandi district and roads have been shut in many areas.
Many houses downstream are at risk, and landslides have been reported in a number of locations around the district. The water level of the Beas River, which flows through Mandi, has risen as a result of overnight rains in the hilly areas.
Mandi has received 64.4 mm of rain in the previous 24 hours.
Damage from severe rain has also been recorded in other parts of the states. In the Kullu district, several vehicles were washed away. The Maohal rivulet near Kullu town washed eight automobiles.
The District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) Chamba reported a road accident near Place Khadamukh on the Khadamukh-Holi Road. One car fell into the NHPC-II dam as a result of this incident. The number of people has not been confirmed. Police Team Bharmour is conducting a search and rescue operation.
