Ravneet Bittu alleges attack on convoy while on way to Pathankot for drug-free yatra

PTC News Desk: BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu on Friday alleged that his cavalcade was attacked while he was on his way to Pathankot to attend the launch of the party’s ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab’ yatra.

Bittu alleged that his security team apprehended three individuals who are allegedly linked to the AAP.

He accused the local MLA Sherry of sending the individuals to prevent him from participating in the yatra.

"Such incidents are a grave threat to democracy and the safety of political leaders," Bittu said.

He further said that if anything happened to him, the Punjab chief minister and DGP would be held responsible.

Following the incident, Bittu called on the Punjab government to take cognizance of the matter and direct thorough investigation along with ensuring the safety of the political leaders and workers.

Meanwhile Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha also launched a scathing attack at the AAP government stating that the party was scared and panicked to what he described as a potential reason behind the attack.

Chadha said, “Think about it — if something like this can happen to a former minister who has Z security, what must ordinary people be going through? This also shows the state of law and order in Punjab.”
