Commercial and heavy trucks will be restricted from entering Delhi from Noida and Ghaziabad beginning Monday night and lasting till August 15. These vehicles would be restricted and diverted to different roads, according to Delhi traffic police officials on Sunday.
On the occasion of Independence Day, around 3,000 traffic police officers will be deployed to monitor traffic at major junctions across the national capital, as well as on roads connecting the border to the Red Fort.

National Highway 205 (NH 205) was blocked at Dakesh in the Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh due to a landslide on Sunday.

At least 52 people died and around 37 have been injured so far during the monsoon amid heavy rains in Uttarakhand that triggered landslides and flash floods in several places, according to official data.
“Due to the disaster caused by heavy monsoon rains in Uttarakhand, the state has suffered a loss of about Rs 650 crore so far, which may increase in the coming days. 52 people have been killed, 37 injured, and 19 missing in different accidents due to rain-related disasters,” the State Disaster Management Department says.

Delhi Police have increased security in the national capital ahead of the Independence Day celebrations.
The Delhi Police has tightened security measures and increased patrolling and vehicle inspections.
Earlier, at Red Fort, a full dress rehearsal for different armed forces was underway.
On the 75th anniversary of India's independence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited Indians to take part in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' initiative from August 13 to 15.
PM Modi stated that the Indian flag represents the spirit of independence and national unity, and he encouraged people to send photos of themselves with the Tiranga to the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' website.
"The Tiranga symbolises the spirit of freedom and national unity. Every Indian has an emotional connect with the Tricolour and it inspires us to work harder to further national progress," the Prime Minister tweeted.
Meanwhile, over 1,800 special guests from across India will gather at the Red Fort to witness Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoist the Indian flag on Independence Day.
Sarpanches from vibrant villages, teachers, nurses, farmers, fishermen, shram yogis who helped build the Central Vista project in New Delhi, khadi sector workers, national award-winning school teachers, border roads organization workers, and those who helped and worked for the Amrit Sarovar projects and Har Ghar Jal Yojana Projects, implemented in various parts of the country, have been invited, along with their spouses, as India celebrates 75 years of independence this year.
