Gurugram: A bomb threat email sent to the Gurugram Deputy Commissioner's office early on Friday prompted a major security response after it claimed that several locations in Gurugram and Delhi, including the Parliament building, could be targeted.

The email, reportedly sent by a group identifying itself as the 'Khalistan National Army', has been forwarded to police and cyber crime authorities for investigation. Officials have not yet verified the authenticity of the sender or the claims made in the message.

Threat email sent to official govt addresses

According to officials, the email was received on the official email accounts of the Gurugram Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC).

The message allegedly threatened bomb blasts at the Gurugram DC office, a school in the city, courts in Haryana and the Parliament building in New Delhi. It also mentioned specific timings for the alleged attacks at each location.

Demand to withdraw FIRs

The sender demanded the withdrawal of FIRs registered against unidentified students. The email further warned that explosions would continue until August 5 if the demand was not met.

Referring to Independence Day celebrations, the message also instructed schools not to organise August 15 programmes or play patriotic songs. It additionally asked that the threat message be circulated among media organisations, school principals, mayors and judges.
