Sheetal Choudhary murder case: Haryanvi model's boyfriend Sunil, a married man with two kids, arrested
PTC Web Desk: The police have arrested the boyfriend of Haryanvi model Sheetal Choudhary, alias Simi, for her alleged murder. Haryanvi model Sheetal Choudhary was found dead with her throat slit and multiple stab wounds. Her boyfriend, Sunil, a married man with two children, has confessed to the crime and has been arrested by the Haryana Police.
The gruesome murder took place late Saturday night, June 14, at Ahar village near Panipat, where Sheetal had gone for an album shoot. At around 10. 30 pm, Sunil arrived unexpectedly to meet her. They reportedly sat in his car and consumed alcohol, after which a heated argument broke out.
According to the police, the altercation escalated to physical violence. At approximately 1.30 am, Sheetal made a desperate video call to her sister Neha in Panipat, informing her that Sunil was assaulting her. Shortly afterward, her phone went unreachable.
Sunil allegedly stabbed Sheetal multiple times during the altercation and later threw her body into a canal along with the car in an attempt to dispose of evidence. The following day, June 15, the Haryana Police discovered the vehicle submerged in a canal near Panipat but found no trace of Sheetal.
Sunil, meanwhile, checked into a hospital in Panipat, claiming that the car had accidentally plunged into the canal and that he had narrowly survived by swimming out. He initially told the police that Sheetal drowned in the accident.
On June 16, a woman’s body with the throat slit was recovered from a canal in Kharkhoda, Sonepat—approximately 80 km from the site of the initial incident. Tattoos on the hand and chest helped identify the body as Sheetal Choudhary. Multiple stab wounds were also found, confirming foul play.
Following sustained questioning, Sunil admitted to killing Sheetal and was taken into custody on June 17. The motive behind the murder is still under investigation.
Sunil and Sheetal had known each other for six years and initially met while Sheetal worked at a hotel owned by Sunil in Karnal.
