Independence Day 2023: Commercial and heavy trucks will be restricted from entering Delhi from Noida and Ghaziabad beginning Monday night and lasting till August 15. These vehicles would be restricted and diverted to different roads, according to Delhi traffic police officials on Sunday.

On the occasion of Independence Day, around 3,000 traffic police officers will be deployed to monitor traffic at major junctions across the national capital, as well as on roads connecting the border to the Red Fort.

“From the night of August 14 at 10 pm, entry of heavy and medium goods vehicles (vehicles carrying goods) will be stopped from Delhi's border, and entry will start only after the programme ends on the next day, August 15,” Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) SS Yadav said.

He stated that vehicles will be moved in a regulated manner near the Red Fort on areas of JLN Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, and Ring Road.

Special precautions are being made to ensure that important services are not disrupted. A large number of police officers have been stationed around the Red Fort and will continue to direct visitors.

Parking arrangements are also being planned for common people and diplomats from other nations who will be attending the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort, according to officials.
