PTC Web Desk: Indian YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra is at the centre of a growing espionage probe after reportedly admitting to consistent communication with a staffer at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi. Officials confirmed on Tuesday that the digital content creator was in direct contact with Ehsan-ur-Rahim, alias Danish, a Pakistani national working at the diplomatic mission.

According to Hisar Police spokesperson Vikas Kumar, Jyoti Malhotra confessed during interrogation that her interactions with Danish spanned from November 2023 to March 2025. The authorities suspect that Danish was actively attempting to recruit and cultivate her as an intelligence asset.

“She has acknowledged her communication with him throughout that period,” Kumar said. “She also maintained links with several other social media influencers. Her three mobile phones and a laptop, along with two devices belonging to Harkirat Singh — IT head of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee — have been seized and sent for forensic analysis.”

Officials from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) have extensively questioned Malhotra regarding her suspected involvement with Pakistani Intelligence Operatives (PIOs). Investigators are now closely examining her digital footprint and financial transactions, which are said to involve multiple bank accounts and several high-value transfers.

The authorities are also reviewing Malhotra’s international travel history. Her passport, issued in 2018 and valid until 2028, shows she has travelled to a number of countries — including Pakistan, China, Dubai, Thailand, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and Indonesia — raising further suspicions of foreign links.

She is scheduled to be presented before a local court on Wednesday, where the police will seek an extension of her remand for continued interrogation.

Over the past two weeks, at least 12 persons  have been detained from Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh in relation to the case. Investigators believe a coordinated spy ring may be operating in northern India under foreign directives.
