Kedarnath Dham Yatra: Portals set for grand opening on May 10

Kedarnath Dham Yatra: After a six-month break, Baba Kedarnath Dham's portals are slated to reopen on Friday. During the preparations for the portals' opening, famous tourist attractions such as Sonprayag and Gaurikund are drawing large crowds, with the majority of them coming to Kedarnath Dham.

A large crowd of pilgrims gathered at Gaurikund, waiting for their turn to book rides on horses or mules, while some were seen walking to the shrine.

Preparations for the ceremonial opening of the Kedarnath Dham portals began early, with prayer and mantra chanting. The temple has been decorated with 40 quintals of flowers, informed the president of the Badrinath-Kedarnath temple Committee.

Lord Kedarnath's Panchmukhi Doli had previously departed from its third stop, the Gauramai Temple in Gaurikund, for Kedarnath.

The Devdoli arrived at Shri Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath from Shri Vishwanath Temple Guptkashi on May 6, and arrived at its second stop, Phata, the next day on May 7.

This year, the Char Dham Yatra will commence on May 10 with the opening of three of the four shrines: Gangotri, Yamunotri, and Kedarnath. The gates of the Badrinath Dham will open on May 12.

The Char Dham Yatra is a significant spiritual pilgrimage for Hindus, taking place from April-May to October-November.
