The development comes as many hotels, restaurants, and public canteens across India are facing disruptions in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) supply. The shortage has been caused by disturbances in global gas supplies due to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
Restaurants, especially in major cities, appear to be among the worst affected. Many establishments have reported a shortage of commercial LPG cylinders used for cooking. As a result, several eateries have reduced their menus, stopped preparing some dishes, or shifted to alternative fuels in order to continue operating.
