PTC News Desk: In a shocking incident in Sikanderpur village in Sirsa, a man killed his mother and her alleged lover by strangling them late Thursday night. After the murders, he drove their bodies to the police station and surrendered, according to police.

The incident happened around 2 am. Raj Kumar (30), who drives a pickup truck, allegedly found his mother Angoori Devi (47) with Lekhraj (48), a neighbour. Police said he became angry and used a dupatta (scarf) to strangle both of them.

Raj Kumar then put the bodies in his truck and drove around 7 km to the Sadar police station. A police officer said Raj Kumar told them: “I killed my mother and her lover. They had an illegal relationship. Please file an FIR. Their bodies are in my vehicle.” He was immediately arrested, and the police sent the bodies for post-mortem examination.

According to Angoori’s mother, Angoori and Lekhraj had been in a relationship for 15 years, even though the family strongly objected. Many family meetings (panchayats) were held but they refused to end the relationship. Angoori’s husband also tried to stop her but failed.

Police said Raj Kumar is married and has three children, and he killed them while his family was at home. A fight took place  after the neighbour came to the house, which led to the attack. Police officers said Raj Kumar was calm, drank tea, and answered questions without showing regret.

Raj Kumar told police that his mother’s relationship brought shame to the family, and he committed the murders to protect their honour. The villagers were shocked after hearing about the incident.
