Man linked to gangster Goldy Dhillon arrested in connection with firings at Kapil Sharma’s Canadian restaurant
PTC Web Desk: The Delhi Police have arrested a man allegedly connected to the series of firing incidents at actor-comedian Kapil Sharma’s restaurant, Kap’s Cafe, in Surrey, Canada. According to information, the accused has been identified as Bandhu Man Singh, a close aide of Canada-based gangster Goldy Dhillon.
He had been allegedly coordinating with Dhillon’s network and was involved in a broader conspiracy aimed at intimidating Kapil Sharma by targeting his cafe. The police have recovered a Chinese pistol and live cartridges from his possession.
The police said his role in the conspiracy and his links with overseas operatives were being closely examined. Authorities are also working to identify additional conspirators and uncover the full scale of the gang’s operations in India and abroad.
Three separate attacks on Kap’s Cafe
Kapil Sharma’s restaurant, which opened in July in Surrey, British Columbia, has been targeted multiple times. The first firing took place just days after its inauguration. Two more shooting incidents followed, one in August, and another on October 16.
Speaking about the attacks during the trailer launch of his upcoming film 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2', Sharma said the incidents surprisingly drew more attention to his restaurant. He noted that the repeated attacks prompted discussions at the national level in Canada.
“What I feel is that the rules there and the police perhaps don’t have the power to control such an incident. But after our case, it reached the federal government and was even discussed in the Canadian parliament,” Sharma said.
“In fact, after every firing incident, the cafe received even more response from the public. So it’s all okay if God is with me,” he added.
